Privacy policy
Aangan is a private video app for families. This page explains what it collects and why. It is in private testing.
What we collect
- Your Google account basics: your name and email address, used to show who you are to your family and to send you invites.
- Family details: the families you create or join, who is in them, and invites you send (the invitee's email address).
- Video details: each video's title, length, size, upload date, a small preview image, and the ID of the file in Google Drive.
- Diagnostic logs during testing: what the app did and any errors, with your device model, app version and email address. They help us fix problems.
Google Drive
The app asks only for permission to see and manage the files it creates in your Google Drive. It cannot see your other files. Videos you upload are saved in a "Aangan" folder in your own Drive and shared so that anyone with the video's link can view it. The links are stored only in our private database and shown only to members of your family inside the app.
Aangan's use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Where it's stored
Videos stay in the uploader's Google Drive. Everything else (account basics, family details, video details, preview images and logs) is stored with our database provider, Supabase.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your data or show ads.
- We don't share your data with anyone except the providers named above, and members of your own family see your videos and name.
Deleting your data
You can delete your videos from the Aangan folder in your Google Drive at any time. To delete your account and everything we store about you, email us and we will do it within 30 days.
